When the burglars strike at the First City Bank, time is of essence.

"McLean called me out of the blue, telling me that the burglary at the First City Bank is already under way. I needed to hurry."

SolutionEdit

Leonardo McLean: Hey, are you there? Pick up, fast! We are moving, the boss called seconds ago!

Detective: What? The gang is robbing the bank right now?

Leonardo McLean: Yes! This is my last call, they are watching me. You're on your own. Hurry!

Leonardo McLean: Yes! This is my last call, they are watching me. You're on your own. Good luck, pretty! Go get 'em!

WitnessesEdit

Lucy Gordon: What are you doing here? Your crooked friend was supposed to give us a heads-up about the robbery! Now all the money is gone, thanks to him!

Detective: He called as soon as he could!

Lucy Gordon: He'll do the explaining before the judge. And now, please, get out of here - this is a restricted area, only for police officers.

Detective: Darn it, Lucy still doesn't trust me. I need to reach Marcus Sachs, and gather some witness reports on the way.

If you fail:

Lucy Gordon: That's it. I like you, but you're seriously overstepping here. Do you need 48 hours in the lock-up to clear your mind?

Detective: That's the weirdest offer to go on a date I ever heard.

Detective: Only if you throw in a handsome burglar to my cell as a part of the deal.

If you win:

Detective: It looks like the alarms didn't go off, and that no robbers were seen entering the building

Marcus Sachs: Detective! What are you doing here?

Detective: I wanted to see if I can help in any way. The robbers entered the vault from the sewer system?

Marcus Sachs: Gosh, how could you know? That's right, they drilled through the vault wall. And no alarms were triggered!

Detective: I can check it out for you. Just give me access to the underground vault.

Crime scene search: Drilling for goldEdit

Detective: I haven't got much time. I need to find some clues about the thieves.

When you go to the second room past the sewer:

Detective: A ladder. The thieves probably went up to the street and mixed with the crowd. I have a better chance of finding some clues down here than up there.

When you enter the basement:

Detective: Funny. There was a room marked on the sewer plans right here... but I can't see any doors leading inside.

Examine the book on the shelving

Detective: A hidden passage behind the bookcase. How cunning.

If you fail:

Detective: There's nothing here. I only wasted my time while the crooks got away.

If you win:

Detective: A matchbook. It looks like it was left here on purpose... Leo! He wanted me to find it... Hmm, it's from the La Figaro. I bet that's where I'll find the gang.

City search: What's on Tap?Edit

Detective: Pola, I need to find a place, fast, and I can't ask officer Gordon to do it.

Pola Chapelle: Is it about the bank robbery? What do you know about it?

Detective: It's the mastermind's job! Please, my informant could be in trouble. Find me the directions to the "La Figaro" and we'll talk when this is over!

The "La Figaro" is:

  • exactly 5 from a press building
  • more than 3 from offices
  • more than 1 from parks
  • more than 2 from shops
  • more than 2 from ports
  • more than 2 from warehouses
  • more than 2 from press buildings
  • On the map there are 2 press buildings
  • On the map there are 2 offices
  • On the map there are 3 shops

Solution: (4,11)

If you fail:

Detective: Darn it, I just can't find it. And without it, I won't be able to locate the gang.

If you win:

Detective: According to Pola's directions, it's this seedy looking joint. And it looks empty at the moment... wait, did I just smell gas? I need to head inside!

Leonardo McLean: Ugh... my head... hello, is someone there? I'm kinda tied up in here!

Detective: I'm here Leo! They opened up the gas main. I need to get you out of here before the whole place blows to smithereens!

Suspect identification: A Hefty TipEdit

Leonardo McLean: Whew! That was close. One spark and folks could name a barbecue dish after me. I owe you!

Detective: That's good, because we need to catch the jerks while they're still in the city.

Leonardo McLean: I'll give you the description of their leader. If you get him, you'll get the whole shebang.

Solution: Salomon Crane

If you fail:

Detective: This ID I got from Leo is worthless. I'll never be able to locate the gangsters.

If you win:

Detective: Lucy? I've got the leader of the bank robbers, Salomon Crane. I'm trailing him.

Lucy Gordon: Roger that! I almost thought that I lost you, that you might have sided with McLean. I'm so glad I was wrong! I'll send a squad car right away.

Detective: It's the second time you thought I broke bad. Relax, Lucy. You can always trust me.

Lucy Gordon: Great! I must admit, I've doubted you for a second there, thought you were under McLean's bad influence. I'm so glad I was wrong! I'll send a squad car right away.

Detective: What can I say? People like McLean make my life more interesting. But I always know what's wrong and what's right.

FinaleEdit

If you fail:

Detective: It didn't go well. I've got nothing useful from Leo, Lucy won't talk with me, and I've got no clue how to catch the gang now.

Detective: I can almost sense the mastermind laughing at my failure. But I'll get back at him, I promise!

If you win:

Leonardo McLean: I never been happy to see another crook end up in jail, but Salomon Crane and his gang deserved it. Do you think it's over?

Detective: Do you? I don't think he was the mastermind. We still don't know how they turned off the alarms. Crane didn't have an alarm jammer on him.

Leonardo McLean: We've been through a lot, I almost died out there. Don't you think it's time to back down? Take a break?

Detective: Not yet, I got a mastermind to catch.

Leonardo McLean: And a girl to impress? She's trouble for you, mate. I've met a lot of cops in my life, and she's more dedicated to the force than any of them.

Detective: So it's time she met an equally dedicated gumshoe.

Leonardo McLean: Couldn't you let officer Gordon take care of this? You know, we've been through a lot lately. You saved me, twice...

Detective: You're right. Stay away from this. I don't want you to get hurt.

Leonardo McLean: No, that's not what I meant! You saved my life. Let me at least invite you to a dinner or a movie...

Detective: Leo, I'm a detective, you're a criminal. None of us wants to change. I like you, I really do, but I'm afraid that ours[sic] path[sic] will cross... in a bad way.

Leonardo McLean: If that's what you want. Good luck with the case, detective. No use for me to hang around...
