Another Case Solved Wiki

The burglaries' investigation takes a turn for the worse when your allies' interests collide.

"Lucy asked me to use my criminal contacts and investigate the series of burglaries."

Solution[]

Lucy Gordon: Look, I think we need to talk. There were a lot of burglaries lately, and I know you investigated some of them. Don't you have any informants in the criminal world? Someone we could press for more info?

Detective: Lucy...

Lucy Gordon: You think I don't know you're hanging out with McLean? That guy's a regular crook. We suspect he stole the Honeysuckles. I'm sure he knows something.

Detective: Hey, I know McLean better than you. I'm sure he's got nothing to do with those burglaries.

Detective: No, not really.

Lucy Gordon: You're a lousy liar, you know that? You think I don't know you're fond of McLean? That guy's a regular crook. We suspect he stole the Honeysuckles. I'm sure he knows something.

Detective: Fond of him? I know McLean better than you. I'm sure he's got nothing to do with those burglaries.

Lucy Gordon: I hope you're not ready to bet your job on that assumption. *sigh* Look, this is my advice: go and talk to McLean. In the meantime, I've got crooks to catch.

Witnesses[]

Detective: Hi there, Leo. You've got a second? Have you heard about any criminal masterminds in the larceny business? Someone who gives their know-how to petty burglars, sets up jobs for them?

Leonardo McLean: What? You gotta be joking, lad/lass. I've never heard about such a person. Things like that happen only in the movies.

Detective: You sure? I recently met a cat-burglar who said someone's powerful is covering her back.

Leonardo McLean: She was probably trying to play you for a fool. Let it go, lad/lass. I assure you - there's no ringleader, no mastermind.

Detective: It's not that I don't trust Leo, but... maybe I should double check him, just in case.

Detective: Leo recently showed himself at his best... but maybe I should double check him, just in case.

If you fail:

Detective: I guess Leo was right. No one on the streets heard about a mastermind.

If you win:

Detective: Darn it. The street also whispers about a mastermind. Then why Leo insisted that there is no such a person?

City search: One, Last Lead[]

Detective: I still have one, last lead. Cecilia Kyle told me she was planning to rob a car repair shop. Perhaps some other crook got this "assignment" from the mastermind after Cecilia was captured.

The auto garage is:

  • exactly 4 from a press building
  • more than 1 from a shop
  • more than 1 from canal
  • not less than 1 from parks
  • more than 2 from a post office
  • On the map there are 3 shops.

Solution: (5,7)

If you fail:

Detective: I can't seem to find the place. What to do now?

If you win:

Detective: I think this is the auto shop. I better find the owner.

Crime scene search: Wheels of Justice[]

Frida Johansson: Hi there! I'm the owner of this auto shop. You're the cop they sent to investigate the break-in?

Detective: She thinks I'm a cop. I better play long.

Detective: Sure, that's me. Tell me how did it happen, ma'am.

Frida Johansson: I must've scared the burglar when I came here to open the garage earlier than usual. The crook made a bit of a mess, but I don't think anything's missing.

Detective: All right. Wait outside, while I look for clues. If the burglar ran away, maybe they left something behind.

In the outside, where you start, on the blue car, there's a water map

In the room north of where you start, there's a paperclip on the switchboard

In the room east of back alley, there's a paperclip in the pipe

If you fail:

Detective: Uh-oh. The real cops are here. I better scram!

If you win:

Detective: What's this? A woolen knit cap. It's got a few brown hairs stuck to it. I'd better leave it here not to contaminate crime scene.

Suspect identification: Hair-rising Hoodlum[]

Detective: I need to find the thief. Luckily, I have the cap. I shold ask around if someone has seen the crook.

If you ask "wears a cap?":

Detective: You got a new cap, Leo?

Leonardo McLean: This? Nah, it's an old one. Hey, you're not suspecting me, are you? I'm not the only one wearing a cap, you know.

Leonardo McLean: Yeah, I've got a new fancy cap. do you like it? Hey, you're not suspecting me, are you? I'm not the only one wearing a cap, you know.

Solution: Leonardo McLean

If you fail:

Detective: I have no clue who could it be... it couldn't be Leo, right?

If you win:

Detective: So you work for the mastermind. You lied to me, McLean.

Leonardo McLean: Look, I can explain! After Mickey's death I had a difficulty in putting a job together... and I heard the mastermind was recruiting, so I put a word on the street that I want to join.

Leonardo McLean: He anonymously sent me intel on the garage job and demanded to give him a share of the loot. That's all I know, honest!

Detective: *sigh* What should I do with you, Leo? Lucy would be very happy to have you in her hands.

Leonardo McLean: Please, don't throw me into the slammer! I'll help you catch the gang. They probably trust me now. You just need to get your girlfriend of my back.

Detective: She's not my girlfriend, Leo. But I need to catch the gang, and your idea seems reasonable. Just don't try anything stupid.

Detective: So you work for the mastermind. I'm not even angry. Just disappointed.

I'll help you catch them. They probably trust me now. You just need to get that nosy copper off my back.

Detective: You ask for a lot, Leo. I'll give you a second chance, but only because I believe you're better than the other crooks.

Finale[]

If you fail:

Lucy Gordon: So? Did you get any information out of him?

Detective: Not really. I don't think he's got anything to do with it, Lucy. And I'm all out of leads.

Lucy Gordon: * sigh * Well, you've got to leave it to the police, then. We'll handle it from here.

If you win:

Lucy Gordon: So? Did you get any information out of him?

Detective: I'm sorry, Lucy, but he doesn't know a thing. I have some leads to follow, but McLean isn't one of them, ok?

Lucy Gordon: Right, right. I'm on your back. I was just hoping you'd bring me something useful.

Lucy Gordon: McLean might've fooled you honey, but not me. I'll keep an eye on him, just in case.

Detective: Chill down, Lucy. McLean is innocent until proven guilty. I have some leads to follow, but McLean isn't one of them, ok?

Lucy Gordon: Right, right. I'm on your back.

Lucy Gordon: McLean might've fooled you girl, but not me. I'll keep an eye on him, just in case.
