Important documents are missing, the city order is at stake. Or so says the client.

"My first contact with the city hall was Mr. Lowry, a clerk who asked me to find a report that should have been delivered to him but never arrived."

Solution[]

Sam Lowry: I'm calling from the city hall. Would you care helping with a.. document mishap?

Sam Lowry: An important report disappeared, and the mayor needs it. The courier never arrived at my door with the package.

Detective: Always a pleasure to help the city hall, Mr. Lowry.

Witnesses[]

Detective: I think I'll start with tracking down the courier.

  • 15 footprints
  • 3 maps
  • 10 questions
  • 3 photos
  • 10 footprints
  • 10 magnifiers
  • 3 fingerprints
  • 5 footprints

If you fail:

Detective: Chasing around the city wasn't hte best idea. I just wasted a lot of time.

If you win:

Detective: It seems the report was delivered to some other city hall employee.

City search: Snail Mail[]

Detective: I need to find the house of the city hall employee.

The adress you are looking for is:

  • not on water
  • more than 1 from railways
  • less than 3 from cafés
  • less than 3 from libraries

Solution: (1,3)

If you fail:

Detective: 0112, 0113... 4267? Those house numbers are insane. How am I going to find the right one?

If you win:

Detective: The clerk lives here. I still have to find the right apartment, though.

Suspect identification: Signature, Please[]

Detective: Excuse me madam, did a courier come here today?

Lana Quay: Yes, he delivered something to one of my neighbors.

Detective: Could you tell me which one?

Solution: Telly Cane

If you fail:

Lana Quay: I'm sorry, detective, but I need to go to work. You'll have to find the recipient without me.

Detective: What a pity. How shall I find the right person? I can't just break into every lat in this building!

If you win:

Detective: He received the report with the morning mail and I hope he hasn't had time to open it yet. Let's check the apartment.

Crime scene search: Return to Sender[]

Detective: The front door is open, and I think I heard someone inside. Could it be the owner? I'd better find out.

When you enter the next room:

Old Mobster: The last transport went good. No cops, no nothing. And the product is great. 65% sucrose, can you believe that?

Young Mobster: Wow. no wonder the boss is getting so rich. I hope we'll get a cut of the profit.

Detective: Are those gangsters, talking about a smuggling operation? What are they doing in Telly Cane's apartment?

Old Mobster: Speaking of cuts, where's this Cane guy? Are you sure this is his apartment? I told you to check it.

Young Mobster: Yeah, I'm sure. But we're waiting here for hours now. Maybe we'll get him tomorrow? Come on, let's go.

Detective: Oh no, I'm in the way! They'll see me!

Old Mobster: No, not the front door. Someone might see us. Let's take the fire escape.

Young Mobster: Good thinking!

Detective: Wheeew!

When you enter the living room:

Detective: It looks like they were here, but they left through the window. I hope they didn't snatch the report!

If you fail:

Detective: I don't think the documents are here... and I think something suspicious is happening here. I need to leave

If you win:

Detective: Dental health report... Hmmm, interesting. Despite the citywide sugar ban, dental hygiene is at a standstill

Finale[]

If you fail:

Sam Lowry: Detective, my meeting with the mayor is in five minutes. Where's the report?

Detective: I'm sorry, but it's like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Sam Lowry: Great. I just need to make up a couple of pages of data. Oh well, I'll tell him what he wants to hear.

If you win:

Detective: Here's the report, Mr. Lowry. But I stumbled upon some gangsters while looking for it.

Sam Lowry: Oh my! Well, let me take a look at it. The mayor will need it soon.

Sam Lowry: Hmmm, those findings are very disturbing. The dental report...

Detective: Don't tell me. I don't want to be a part of it, Mr. Lowry. One close encounter with gangsters is enough for me. Just pay me please, and I'll forget about it.
