Everything leads to one suspect - the gentleman Malone. It's time for the confrontation.

"Implicating Mogilevich as Malone's executioner is the key to bringing down the mob boss, and it's time to connect the dots."

Solution[]

Detective: All those recent events point to a single direction, Leo. I think Malone might be involved in Paul Litzer's murder.

Leonardo McLean: Are you sure? We know of his involvement with the AmTransGroup, his order to kill Eisenberg... but Litzer?

Detective: The lead is thin, but that all I've got. Mogilevich wanted to kill me. I need to act fast.

Leonardo McLean: Then what are we waiting for? Maybe with my help, we can connect Mogilevich with Malone.

Witnesses[]

Detective: We need to hit the streets. Someone surely knows something about Mogilevich's current employer.

Leonardo McLean: Right. I'll check in with the gang. Maybe Malone let something slip.

If you fail:

Detective: I think we had it wrong. There's no connection between Malone and Mogilevich.

Leonardo McLean: That's ridiculous. Who else could've hired him?

If you win:

Detective: Well, well. I heard Mogilevich is on Malone's payroll. Can you confirm that?

Leonardo McLean: Looks like it. Malone met Mogilevich a few times recently, but nobody knows where he is right now.

Detective: Don't worry, I've got a plan.

Leonardo McLean: Oh, I'm not worrying that your plan won't work. I just can't wait till I kick Malone where it hurt most.

Suspect identification: All the Mobster's Men[]

Leonardo McLean: So what's the plan?

Detective: First, I need to find someone who knows Malone's schedule. I need to confront him somewhere public.

Solution: Salomon Crane

If you fail:

Detective: I think we need to call off the hunt for Malone. His men are highly suspicious of you.

Leonardo McLean: Great. All that inside work for nothing!

If you win:

Detective: Crane. Once a gang leader, now Malone's lackey.

Leonardo McLean: There's no place for honest crooks like me in Malone's vision of the city. He'll have everyone under his thumb if we don't stop him.

City search: Killing Time[]

Leonardo McLean: So, you're going to follow Crane to Malone, right? Then what?

Detective: Simple. I'll confront Malone. If I play this right, Malone might let it slip why did he order the hit on Litzer.

Leonardo McLean: If you confront Malone, he'll order Mogilevich to kill you.

Detective: Probably.

Leonardo McLean: So let's do it a bit differently. You'll go after Malone, and I'll track down Mogilevich. When Malone gives Mogilevich a call, I'll call the cops and they'll have him arrested!

Detective: Going after Mogilevich all alone? Isn't that risky?

Leonardo McLean: I can't let you do this, honey! If you confront Malone, he'll order Mogilevich to kill you.

Detective: Don't be so overprotective, Leo! I can protect myself.

Leonardo McLean: I'm just suggesting a small change in the plan. You'll go after Malone, and I'll track down Mogilevich. When Malone gives Mogilevich a call, I'll call the cops and they'll have him arrested!

Detective: Don't be so overprotective, my dear! I can protect myself.

Leonardo McLean: Look who's talking. Relax, he knows I'm working for Malone. He'll assume we're on the same side.

Malone is:

  • more than 1 from railways
  • not on parks
  • in the distance of 1 from water
  • more than 2 from shops
  • more than 2 from barbers
  • more than 1 from labs
  • more than 2 from gas stations
  • more than 2 from airports
  • On the map there are 2 shops
  • On the map there are 2 gas stations

Solution: (10,8)

If you fail:

Detective: Crane managed to lose me, and he probably alerted Malone by now. I need to call this off.

If you win:

Detective: We meet again, Mr. Malone.

Tony Malone: For the last time, I hope. Why do you interrupt my visit to this fine museum?

Detective: I finally pieced it together, Malone. You ordered the hit on Litzer. One of your goons shot him point blank, and then you forced Bravucci to start the fire. He was probably indebted to you, because of his gambling habit.

Tony Malone: A fascinating little story, detective. But when it comes to fiction, I prefer crime novels. You are, simply put, totally wrong. I never laid a finger on Litzer, neither one of my men. I read Litzer's articles, enjoyed his work.

Detective: I know you're lying, Malone. Behind that mask of a gentleman is a dark and ruthless soul. You killed Litzer just like you offed Eisenberg. What was Litzer researching before his murder? Your real estate deeds? Or maybe synthetic sugar?

Tony Malone: You just don't know when to quit, do you?  told you, I didn't do it. But that bit about synthetic sugar is fascinating... only a handful of my men knew about that affair. And I trusted all but one.

Detective: *gasp* Oh, no...

Tony Malone: That's right. McLean. Excuse me, I need to make a... business call. My bodyguards will escort you to the exit.

Crime scene search: Scoundrel in Distress[]

Detective: This is bad, really bad! I bet Mogilevich surprised Leo. I just hope he's still alive!

Detective: Luckily, the call wasn't that hard to track down. Malone sure has a thing for theatrics. He wants to kill Leo in the same fun fair where the synthetic sugar formula was hidden!

When you enter the railroad tracks near carousel:

Detective: I think I hear someone talking...

Ivan Mogilevich: it is very ironic, Leo. Malone pays me to kill you because you were helping the detective. And Covet pays me to kill the detective! You do not think this is funny?

Ivan Mogilevich: Why do you not answer? It looks you are tied up at the moment. Hahaha! Da svidaniya, Leo!

Detective: Covet?! Darn it, I'll piece it together later. Now I need to save Leo!

When you go forward two rooms:

Detective: Leo! Here you are! Where's Mogilevich?

Leonardo McLean: Hmmmmphphmmmm!

Detective: Oh great. Tied to the tracks... wait, is that a roller-coaster coming? I need to do something, quick!

Screenshot 2014-08-03-14-27-16

If you fail:

Detective: It's too late. I failed you, Leo!

If you win:

Detective: I switched the roller-coaster to another track. You're safe! Now let's remove the gag.

Leonardo McLean: Wheeeew! That was close. I'd be a goner if it weren't for you! Detective: You'd be a goner twice. Now let's get out of this sad place.

Leonardo McLean: Wheeeew! That was close. I'd be a goner if it weren't for you, honey! Detective: Oh, I'll find a way for you to repay me, I promise. Now let's get out of this sad place.

Finale[]

If you fail:

Detective: Darn it, Malone! You won this round, but that victory comes at a price. You'll pay for everything you did. You haven't seen the last of me!

If you win:

Leonardo McLean: That does it. I'll never go to a fun fair again.

Detective: I don't think the fun fair is the problem here. You're risking too much, going after Malone like that.

Leonardo McLean: Maybe you're right. Being a thief and a spy just isn't for me. And frankly, I want to throw in the towel and quit both. Detective: You're turning into a model citizen, Leo. And speaking of model citizens...

Leonardo McLean: Maybe you're right. Being a thief and a spy just isn't for me. You know what? I quit. I'm going legit from now. Detective: I'm very proud, honey! But there's still one thing I need to figure out...

Leonardo McLean: Yeah, I know. Covet. Mogilevich said that he was hired by him to kill you. Why would he do that?

Detective: The Litzer case. It looks like it was Covet's doing all along.

Leonardo McLean: But... he's the mayor! How do you face a person like that?

Detective: I don't know yet, but trust me. The bigger they are, the harder the fall.
